James E Sullivan Memorial Award

The AAU James E. Sullivan Memorial Award was established in the memory of Past President James E. Sullivan. It is a trophy awarded annually to the outstanding amateur athlete not only for his athletic accomplishments, but also for how well he exemplifies the amateur creed. The first award was in 1930.

A Super P.A.C.E Award is presented to the District registering 1% or more of the its total population.

Pace Award

The PACE (President's Award Commending Excellence) is presented to those Districts who have shown consistency in high registrations. Each District registering 2/10 of 1% of its population will be presented with a PACE.

Spirit Award

A Spirit Award is presented to the District that show the greatest initiative in promoting the AAU.

Adult Sport Programming Award

Award is computed by totaling number of:

1. Active Adult Sports offered by the District
2. Registered Adult Athletes
3. Sanctions
4. Championships

In the event of a tie, Active Adult Sports carries the greatest weight, followed by Registrations, Sanctions, then Championships.

In the event of a tie, Active Youth Sports carries the greatest weight, followed by Registrations, Sanctions, then Championships. Awards are presented to First, Second, and Third Place Winners.\

Community Sports and Recreation Award

The Outstanding Man and Woman Award was established to honor the outstanding leaders, men and women, in the field of Public Recreation during the year. It was first awarded in 1963 and incorporated into a single award in 2001. The name changed to the Lederman - Schueremann Award in 2005.

AAU Taekwondo Athletes Shine in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei

The International Governing Body for the Olympic Sport of Taekwondo only chose six (6) U.S. athletes to represent the United States and two (2) of those superior athletes are current AAU members Ms. Michelle Gonciarz and Ms. Kendall Yount.
