USA ROLLER SPORTS, “ RECOGNIZES OUTSTANDING INLINE HOCKEY ATHLETES AND VOLUNTEERS”
-- A special presentation took place during the 2013 FIRS WORLD INLINE HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS and AAU-USARS Junior Olympics in Southern California July 7-21. Individuals were recipients for the following awards.
The George Pickard Award, given to honor an individual who has shown exceptional efforts in the advancement of roller inline hockey through their dedication in the service under the aegis of USARS as referees, meet directors, scorers and other significant competition support officials was presented to Keith Noll, Menomonie, Wisconsin. Noll is a member of the FIRS International Inline Hockey Executive Committee (CIRILH) and host of the 2013 World Inline Hockey Championships in conjunction with the Anaheim Ducks, Noll also continues to serve as the National Chair for the AAU grass roots hockey program since 1994.
USOC Male Athlete of the Year for Roller Sports in 2012 presented to Dustin Roux, McMurray, Pennsylvania – Named MVP at 2012 Inline Hockey World Championships in Bucaramanga, Colombia by participating world team coaches.
USOC Team of 2012 for Roller Sports Awards presented to the 2012 USA Roller Sports Men’s Inline Hockey Team USA: Georgie Barber, Brandon Barnette, Itan Chavira, Brian Ganz, Skylar Hoar, Peter Kavaya, Joshua Laricchia, Joseph Mazzie, Jonathan Mosenson, Ian Rezac, Dustin Roux, Jon-Paul Susco, Michael Vincent Urbano, Brock Wilson
USA Roller Sports Athlete Hall of Fame Membership was bestowed upon Zygmund Marszalek, North Bellmore, New York, who was a Member of 11 World Championship USA Teams that won 9 Gold and 2 Silver medals, from 1996-2007. His ballistic slapshot was fearsome to goalies throughout the world.
The USA Roller Sports Inline Hockey Player of the Year for 2012 Award goes to Ian Rezac, Huntington Beach, California, for outstanding performance at the 2012 World Championships.
