FUN MEET FACTS: 

First Person to Register for JO Games:  Brittani Griesbaum, Lake Villa, IL, She will be competing in 15-16 years old Girls 100, 400, Long Jump and High Jump. Tatum Castillo, Prosper, TX, runs 10:17.00 to break a 25 years old record in the 12 years old girls 3000 meters. 

Robert Griffin III, who is now the quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Heisman Trophy winner  and track star at Baylor University holds the record in both the Boys 15-16 years old400m hurdles (51.77 in 2006) and Boys 17-18 years old 400m hurdles (49.56 in 2007). 

Vasthi Cunningham, Las Vegas, NV, daughter of NFL Quarterback Randall Cunningham wins Girls 15-16 years old high jump with a mark of 5-11.  She attempted but missed the 1982 record of 6-0.25 held by Sherri Bruant of Indianapolis, IN.   

46 out of 50 states and Puerto Rico are represented at the 2013 JO Games in Detroit. Texas leads the way with 1437 athletes. 

In the 11 years old Boys 1500 meters, Brandon Miller of O Fallon, MO breaks record with a time of 4:37.24.  It is his second record in two years.  He broke the 10 years old 1500 meter record last year in Houston with a time of 4:49.53.    

Tyler Mapson, Union City, GA breaks the 10 years old boys 400 meet record at 58.91.  With this record Tyler now holds the record in the 400 meters for the 8 & under (1:03.44), 9 years old (1:00.4) and now 10 years old (58.91).  He also holds the record for the 100 meters for the 9 years old (12.97) and 200 meters for the 9 years old (26.46). 

Sherrise Peterson, Philadelphia, PA runs 2:22.51 to break a 27 years old record in the 10 years old girls 800 meters. 

Daesha Rogers, Miami, FL runs 2:08.15 to break a 27 years old record in the 14 years old girls 800 meters.  She now holds (9) records at the JO Games.  8 & under 400 meters (1:07.21), 8 & under 800 meters (2:34.82), 12 years old 800 meters (2:13.30), 13 years old 800 meters (2:07.65), 14 years old 800 meters (2:08.15), 9 years old 1500 meters (5:08.05), 10 years old 1500 meters (4:54.59), 11 years old 1500 meters (4:45.65), and 13 years old 1500 meters (4:36.79).   

Willie Washington, Hampton, VA breaks 10 Years Old Boys 100 meters (12.45) record and broke 200 meters record in semifinals (25.61).

Jaellene Burgess, Homestead, FL wins 8 & under Girls 1500 meters (5:41.67) and 800 meters (2:38.13). 

Jeremy Mcduffie, Snellville, GA wins 15-16 years old Boys Long Jump (22-8.5) and Triple Jump (48-2.5).

Lucas Upton, Pendlton, IN wins 12 years old Boys 800 meters (2:08.73) and 1500 meters (4:30.32). 

Lloyricia Cameron, Miami, FL  wins 17-18 years old Girls Shot Put (43-9.75) and Discus (144-8). 

Justin Bowick, Smryna, GA wins 9 years old Boys 400 meters (1:04.26) and 800 meters (2:29.42).
