2014 11th Grade Super Showcase- BABC vs. KCRun GMC- Game RECAP

On July 23rd BABC faced off against KC Run GMC for one of two 11th grade Super Showcase games recorded for a national television broadcast! The game was played in Louisville Kentucky in the historic Freedom Hall. Games were recorded for playback on the Universal Sports Network on August 1, 2014 from 3PM to 9PM.

BABC defeated KC Run GMC 67-59 in the 11th Grade Super Showcase. BABC’s Terence Mann led all scorers with 23 points, followed by teammates Bruce Brown’s 17 points. Jimmy Witt paced KC Run GMC scoring 14 points.

BABC jumped out to an early 9-1 lead, but Run GMC outscored BABC 10-4 the remainder of the quarter to make it a two-point game after one.  Bobby Martin Jr. led all scorers through one with five points.

BABC stretched their lead back to six points on a Terance Mann breakaway dunk, but a Jimmy Witt turnaround jumper capped off a 6-0 Run GMC run to knot the score at 20 with 3:30 to play in the second quarter.  Both teams went shot for shot to end the half in a 26-26 tie.

Jimmy Witt knocked down a three-pointer from the right side to give RUN GMC a 29-26 lead to begin the second half. BABC pulled ahead 36-33 late in the third quarter, but Kevin Puryear answered with an and-one on the other end to knot the game at 36. A Mann dunk regained the lead for BABC, but Ryan Kreklow dropped a three-pointer to put Run GMC up 39-38 through three.

Terance Mann took over in the fourth quarter scoring six quick points and dishing out an assist to get BABC a 50-45 lead.  However, Run GMC scored four straight points cutting BABC’s lead to one on a Jared Dixon layup in transition following an Aamanhne Santos turnover.  Puryear drained a three from the left wing to give Run GMC a 52-50 lead, but Bruce Brown hit a floater to tie the game at 52 to send the game into overtime.

Brown converted an and-one on BABC’s first possession of OT, and Tyree Robinson got two baskets in the paint giving BABC a 59-52 advantage. Jeremy Miller capped off game with a monster two-handed dunk as BABC won 67-59.
