Former Sullivan Award Winner, Tim Tebow, Helping Children

Tim Tebow, former star quarterback for the Florida Gators and 2007 AAU Sullivan Award winner, is continuing his reputation as a philanthropist. Timmy’s Playrooms are being implemented in children’s hospitals around the world, thanks to generous donations from the public. The latest Playroom just opened in Orlando at the new Nemours Children’s Hospital, making it the fifth one so far. These playrooms are being built around the world to “bring Faith, Hope and Love to patients and their families.”

The Tim Tebow Foundation exists to bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need. One hundred percent of all public donations go directly to their outreach initiatives.

Tim Tebow was awarded the 78th Annual AAU Sullivan Award in a ceremony at the historic New York Athletic Club. The Florida quarterback became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy after throwing for 3,286 yards and 32 touchdowns last season. Tebow, who grew up in Jacksonville, also won the Davey O’Brien and Maxwell awards. He’s the only player in NCAA history to rush and pass for at least 20 touchdowns in a season. His 55 touchdowns were the most in a season in school history. He also set the school single-season record for total offense with 3,970 yards as the Gators (9-4) finished No. 16 in the USA TODAY Coaches’ Poll.
