(Port St. Lucie, FL) – Nike paid a visit to Port St. Lucie High School on Friday, February 22, 2013 to honor a local High School student for his achievements on and off the mat. Hunter Taroli, a junior and varsity wrestling captain and AAU Wrestling member, was given the MVP of the Month Award from Nike. Richard Serrano, Store Manager of the Vero Beach Nike Store, was on hand to present him with the award along with some coveted Nike gear.
Taroli has been wrestling for Port St. Lucie High School for the last three seasons after starting in the Port St. Lucie PAL wrestling camp. He has been the District Champ and a State Qualifier for the last two seasons, finishing this season in the top 16 in the state for 138 lb weight class. His leadership and coaching abilities were recently noticed by a FHSAA official who wrote to the school to thank them for Taroli’s dedication and superior attitude.
The buzz from this letter and Taroli’s progress this season made its way to Serrano at the Nike store who thought Taroli to be the perfect candidate for the Nike MVP of the Month award. Mrs. Rogers, one of Taroli’s teachers visited the store and told Serrano about him and his season.
