Alexa Filley from Assumption High School in Louisville, KY has been named the 2013-2014 Gatorade National Volleyball Player of the Year. Filley is a four-time AAU All American while playing with Asics KIVA in the AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships.
The Gatorade Player of the Year award recognizes the nation’s most outstanding high school student-athletes for their athletic and academic achievements as well as exemplary character. Filley demonstrates excellence in all categories by leading her high school to a state championship while maintaining a 3.95 GPA as volunteering for the Special Olympics and other organizations.
