Dear Potomac Valley Members,
I have been informed of the passing of our dear friend Mr. Riley Gore on Friday January 10th, 2014. Mr. Riley Gore has served the Potomac Valley District with dedication and commitment for over 40 years.
Mr. Riley Gore was a long time volunteer with the Silver Hill Boys and Girls Club. He was the Founder and architect of the Potomac Valley AAU Slam N Jam Hoyas. He has held a number of volunteer and management positions at the Potomac Valley District level and served with me on the AAU National Boys Basketball Council as a Commissioner. It is impossible to quantify the number of young men and women who he has coached, mentored, impacted or touched their lives.
I am honored to consider him a friend and I will miss him dearly. Please remember Brother Riley in your prayers. Thanks Riley for all your years of service to the AAU Boys Basketball National Council, Potomac Valley Boys Basketball and to me.
The services will be on Saturday January 18, 2014 at the Grace Apostolic Church at 4417 Dix street NE, Washington DC 20019. The viewing will start at 1pm and the services will start at 2 pm. You may contact Randy Gore at rgore7@gmail.com and at 202-487-3537 .
With deep regret,
P. K. Martin, Governor PVAAU
