Criteria: Districts are divided into three Population Divisions based on the 2000 Census figures. These divisions allow a nearly equal breakdown in numbers (i.e., one third of the Districts in each Division). Red Division 4.5 million and up White Division: 2,500,000 to 4,499,999 Blue Division: 2,499,999 and under A Progress Award measures each District's progress and is presented to the first place winner in each Division. The All American Awards are based on the same criteria as the Progress Award, and are presented to the second, third, and fourth place winners in each Division.
Criteria: Presented to an District Officer who has demonstrated integrity and honesty in dealing with members of his/her District, all other members of the AAU, and the public in general; who has assisted in the improvement of his/her District; who has demonstrated that the service to the District has not been motivated by self-benefit or personal gain and that no conflict of interest exists in any AAU activities. Nominee must have been a member of the AAU at the District level for at least five years. Nominees are submitted by their District to the designated committee annually, and unsuccessful nominees shall be considered for three years after their first year of nomination. Requests for nominations will be forwarded to all Districts.

Criteria: The Arthur Carling Toner, Jr. Memorial Award is presented to a District Registrar for distinguished registration service to the Amateur Athletic Union of the US, Inc. for a minimum of 10 years.
