How would YOU stack up?

How would YOU stack up?

For the second year, the AAU Junior Olympic Games hosted the AAU Sport Stacking Championships as part of the multi sport event.  In Detroit, young athletes of all ages flooded the Cobo Center with their cups and quick hand and eye coordination.  You may think it is an easy task to stack cups but do not be fooled; these athletes take this sport seriously and with intense speed.

You can participate as 1) an individual using the 3-3-3, 3-6-3, or cycle format, 2) as a doubles team or 30 as a relay team using the 2 head-to-head relays or times 3-6-3 format. So many choices, so much excitement and speed!

Four outstanding 10 year old boys set a world record for the 3-6-3 relay world record with a time of 16.850 seconds.  The team name –Lightning Flash featuring Austin Nabor, Andrew Dale, Michael Haig, and Brian Jangerh.

If you didn’t make it out to see this new sport in the AAU JuniorOlympic Games, you will need to mark it on your calendar for the 2014 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines!  You can even try your skills out at Sport Stacking in their fun interactive area – test your speed and hand and eye coordination.
