In 2014, 92% of Multi-Sport Organizations were involved in Olympic Day. This year, the U.S. Olympic Committee has the goal of 100% participation by MSOs.
Olympic Day celebrations promote the Olympic Movement by motivating communities to get on the move, learn about values and discover ways to establish and maintain active lifestyles. Olympic Day is held annually on June 23 and celebrated throughout the entire month of June. In 2014, 491 events were hosted by Multi-Sport Organizations
throughout the United States. Register your event today to help make Olympic Day 2015 the greatest of all time.
Event Registration is Quick and Simple
Hosts can tag “Olympic Day” onto a preexisting event, such as a 5K or an athletic tournament, or create a standalone Olympic Day event in the month of June. Registration is completely free and allows your Multi-Sport Organization to collaborate with the U.S. Olympic Committee. To register, click here. Benefits of Hosting an Olympic Day Celebration
Olympic Day events have the potential to greatly influence your Multi-Sport Organization, your membership and your community by exposing participants to the values of the Olympic Movement. Olympic Day events have the opportunity to host an Olympian or Paralympian (please keep in mind that athletes are not guaranteed at all Olympic Day events). Upon registration, event hosts will receive an Olympic Day flag and Team USA stickers. Hosts also have access to the Olympic Day Toolkit, which features event ideas, press release tips, printable certificates and more.
