More than 1,900 teams will invade the Central Florida area June 18 for the start of the 2013 AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships! This year marks the 40th year the AAU has hosted this event, which features athletes ranging from 10U through 18U. Last year, this AAU Volleyball tournament broke the Guinness World Record for the largest volleyball tournament in the world! This year, the AAU is expecting an even bigger turnout, with more than 20,000 members attending from 41 different states.
The tournament kicks off with Opening Ceremonies on June 18 at 7PM. The opening ceremony will feature a parade of athletes so you definitely won’t want to miss it! The next day is the official start of play, with the 10U through 14U divisions playing from June 19-22. As the younger girls are finishing up, the 16 and 17 Open divisions begin playing from June 22-25 and the 15U through 18U start right in the middle of the week, lasting from the 23rd through the conclusion of the tournament, the 26th.
