Basketball is tipping off for the summer! Clubs will travel to Orlando, FL to play some of the best teams in the world at the AAU Basketball Nationals. More than 600 girls’ teams will start off the basketball summer July 2 with the 2nd/3rd Grade Nationals and will keep ESPN Wide World of Sports full until July 13th when the 11th Grade DI and DII Nationals wrap up the girls’ summer.
Among all the girls’ tournaments will be the AAU Girls Super Showcase events. These events are invitation only and you won’t want to miss them! The best of the best players will star in these games, some of them competing for college scholarships.
During the second half of the month, the boys will rule the courts at ESPN Wide World of Sports! Starting July 10, more than 1200 boys’ teams will invade Orlando Nationals and Showcase events. The 10th Grade DII Nationals will kick off the boys’ summer and the action won’t end until August 2nd when the 3rd Grade DI and DII Nationals close out the AAU summer.
Just like the girls’, you won’t want to miss the AAU Boys Super Showcase events! These boys’ are also playing for scholarships, showcasing their skills in front of some of the best college recruiters in the nation. These games will definitely be fun to watch!
Athletes from all over the world are traveling to compete. This year we have teams travelling from Canada, England, Germany and Puerto Rico. Be ready for some great basketball this month because these athletes are playing for keeps.
